Suffering from adverse effects of kapalbhati – help me somehow!

NadishodhanI am suffering from adverse affects of kapalbhati after doing it watching from tv (baba Ramdevs Show). I cant concentrate and my mind gets clouded. I cant understand a situation as a result of which I have become very irritable. help me somehow. My life has become kind of hell.

There is a perennial issue of modern times. People pick up diseases from Internet or TV and then they start searching for cures also on the net or TV. I am not sure who was the first person to innovate this mode of ‘off-line teaching’ where in the teacher has ‘zero’ presence in the learning process and hardly there are any chances of supervising one’s student but nevertheless this innovation has become the hard and cruel reality of our times.

If someone really wishes to learn Ashtang Yoga offline one can succeed till only two steps and that is Yama and Niyama. All other 6 steps (Asana, Pranayama, Pratyahara, Dharana, Dhyan and Samadhi) are to be learnt only in presence of an able Guru or teacher. Even here you can be guided fully till the asana and further steps till dhyana will require your own learning caliber supported with Teacher’s guidance. The final step can not be taught at any cost – the practitioner has to do it by him/herself.

So Manjunath, please do not expect me to teach you any processes in breathing or otherwise to help you come out of your present condition albeit I will suggest you to STOP your practices completely. Do not think about Yoga or Pranayama for next 6 months. Visit your doctor regularly, take his advised medication; eat, drink, sleep and make merry as much as you can. Hopefully you shall start recovering..

While you enjoy this extravaganza of life’s feats ensure you eat on time, sleep on time, get up on time, do moderate physical workout (like jogging, running and weight training), drink lots of water, laugh a lot and do not watch too much of TV or internet, stay away from intoxicants, excessive sex and negative people. Do take out time to connect with nature (tattvas), watch morning sun, play with children, do service (seva) of needy and sing bhajans or songs (whatever you prefer more).

For those who are reading such an article for the first time should know why Manjunath is suffering. This suffering has been caused by angered prana-vayu. And all authentic scriptures on Yoga advise us to take the breathing process (prana) cautiously and very gradually..

And if not done as advised one suffers with many illnesses of brain, eyes, chest, ears and of other types.

Manjunath, do take your own time to get healed by following general rules of health minus yoga-pranayama and then contemplate seeing an authentic Yoga teacher.
